How International Inquiries Work

Email us: Explain your concern, the city or area in Japan, and what you would like to establish.
Case review: We assess the purpose, available information, feasibility and applicable legal requirements.
Estimate and agreement: If the case can be accepted, the proposed scope, fees and contractual terms are explained before any investigation begins.
Investigation and report: Work is conducted in Japan as agreed. Reporting format and language are confirmed before the engagement.

Based in Tokyo, Birch Research primarily serves the Tokyo and Kanagawa areas. Investigations elsewhere in Japan may be discussed depending on location, scheduling and feasibility. We do not offer on-the-ground investigations outside Japan through this page.

Fees are quoted in Japanese yen (JPY), based on the required investigators, hours, travel and other expenses. Please see our Japanese pricing page for current published rates. A case-specific quote is provided before a contract is agreed.
